An NFL running back would single handily win a state championship, and he could double at defensive line/ LB and wreck shop

that is the best answer hands down

I think it would be better if you had a running QB that is tough enough to play defense.

If I'm not mistaken J R House took a pretty terrible team all the way to state in West Virginia because he was such a great athlete in high school. He ironically didn't even turn out to be anything special in college because he pursued his baseball career first.
