The only that would work is if she ran the cards on tables that paid cash, pockets the cash, now she has her $25 back than adds a tip on top of it. Thier pos system should have de lined the amount of the tip, but it didn't. If she was ringing in fake food tickets she would not be getting her $25 back.

Unfortunately a lot of systems don't decline this. It doesn't make sense why it wouldn't but it happens.


ETA: Not too long ago credit card companies started kicking back the total charge to the business in the case of a decline. Basically saving them a shite ton of $$$. So she would have an initial investment of x amount of gift cards. Wait a period of time and get to reuse them again.
