Yup! When I started out selling loans ALL of my leads were cold calls, all we knew they were homeowners, and I made over $10,000 my third month. My tip is to not let hearing "no" discourage you. Just remember, each no gets you closer to a yes. You cannot be lazy and you need to learn to LOVE the phones if you are going to make any money.

frick that. When I started as a realtor I used Service Magic and shite to get my leads that way I at least knew the people were interested instead of wasting time dialing the phone book. My friend started his mortgage business the same way using Service Magic and had refis out the arse within a month of starting.

SM is now known as Home Advisor FWIW

If a person tells you no, it is because they don't KNOW any different otherwise.

I tell my sales team all the time, it's not about us, it's about them. Always ask permission to ask questions. It will make the person on the other end less defensive and allow them to think they are in control of the sales call.
