I just bought a house in the Heights. I'm 26 and engaged. For a 22 year old, I would suggest trying to find something in Midtown/Montrose/Rice Military area. I lived in the middle of the Washington Bar scene and Midtown Bar scene off Allen Parkway from the time I moved here until this past fall. I loved it. You are a quick 5 minute cab ride from any nightlife. I love the Heights now, but I'm at a different point in my life. I don't go out nearly as much. I'm thinking the Heights may be cheaper the further north you go, but I'm not sure if you are on a budget or whatever.
