Simmons is a star.
His ability to dribble with his head up gives that team endless possibilities. He gets a rebound and guards just start running. He can put it on the floor and find players..
In first half he has 10 points and 5 boards...

Yea A ton of talent and Simmons is a beast.

Simmons will have butts in the seats at the PMAC.
And despite one of the most akward decision announcments (month or so ago) I've ever seen, Cliff Alexander will be tough to deal with in Lawrence.

Thanks for the heads up; started watching around halftime.
Extremely excited about Simmons and really liking aspects of Patterson's game as well.
Also, even though he's not an LSU target, it's worth mentioning: Alexander is an absolute monster. That man looks like a future NBA all-star PF

I don't know why Montverde started just jacking up threes. They looked good inside and are in the bonus. Last few possessions have been poor. Patterson has missed some wide open jumpers, but I like the ball in his hand. He can dribble and has good vision.

Monteverde is having an off game. I thought Simmons was taller than 6'8

I had the same thoughts. Alexander started taking over on the offensive end and Montverde's response was not strong. Looked like they tried too hard to take back the momentum with a big shot rather than sticking with what was working.
And I was hoping to see a bit more explosiveness out of Patterson, but he just does't quite look to have that third gear. Despite that, his confidence with the ball in his hands is outstanding. He just looks so comfortable when in possession of the ball, like no one can ever take it way from him. Definitely has a good feel for the floor on the offensive end, but made a few dumb mistakes on D, including that really bad foul on Alexander down the stretch.
Looks to have very good potential as a game manager, but needs to develop that shot. He's going to need a little something there to keep his defender honest at the next level.
And obviously the potential with Simmons is off the chart, so no need to break down his game too much, ha. That dribble penetration with about a minute left looked unbelievably smooth and explosive for someone as big/long as Simmons

Simmons is going to be a star in the SEC for sure. I really wish he was a senior so LSU could get him on the floor as soon as possible

Patterson intrigues me. There are options at PG for LSU over the next few years in recruiting, but the staff felt like Patterson was a take. He'll have time to adjust to the speed & athleticism of the college game under Hickey and Quarterman which is great.
