He doesn't identify specific needs, really.

Injuries have been the problem.

And he's happy with Monty.

ETA: Oh, he's also happy with Gordon and says he is not being shopped.

Monty isn't by any means perfect but, I think the hate on him is overblown a bit

Q: What do you think about coach Monty Williams and the job he has done?

A: "I think he is doing a good job. I feel for him because he has had to deal with all the injuries and all the different players coming in. It's interesting for Monty, he has had so many different types of teams he has had to coach in his four years. He went from a veteran team to a team without a star and lot of injuries to a really, really young team to now a building team.

"The one thing is players are developing under Monty. Players are getting better. He is doing a good job of developing guys and translating that on the court. Now we are just hoping to get him a healthy group that he can coach."

Q: So this definitely is a team you want to let grow with Monty?

A: "Yes."

Fletch tweeted this link (dont worry, he didn't write it). It's nothing earth shattering but I thought I'd add it to the discussion.

The Pelicans signed Tyreke Evans this past summer to a four-year, $44 million free-agent deal and then added veteran PG Jrue Holiday via a trade with the Sixers to join Eric Gordon and Anthony Davis. But all the moves haven't exactly clicked. In fact, they've backfired, with New Orleans losing 13 of its last 17 games after starting out 11-10. The front office's take? Team execs are saying at least those are assets that can be moved. Davis and Holiday are the keepers.

Because a GM would admit to it if a player were being shopped. Also a GM is never going to throw his coach under the bus during the season.
