Current "Bachelor" Juan Pablo Galavis broke barriers by being the first person of color to star in the franchise, but the former soccer player doesn't think the same right should be afforded to gays or bisexuals. In an interview with The TV Page, Galavis spoke out against the possibility of a gay or bisexual bachelor.

Basically one of the Bachelor stars says that there shouldn't be a gay or lesbian season of the show. And I agree 100% with him

I remember there being a similar bisexual version of the show on MTV a few years ago but a gay bachelor or lesbian bachelorette should not be on network TV

I wouldn't expect it to amount to much if they did, but who cares?

I don't think they should just because it wouldn't be good for ratings, when your target audience is straight women. If they thought it was good for ratings it would have been done by now.

My personal preference would be to not be barraged with this attempt to mainstream marginal behavior, but no way am I going to call for censorship.

Nah, Phil Robertson kicked the gay mafias door in. Expect a lot more people to speak their mind without repercussions

I don't think it is a good example for kids to watch that on TV," Galavis said.

BUT.... a game show where people are paid to compete to be the boyfriend of a man they've spent very few hours with is just the example we want to show our kids. The finalists, having impressed him over three months of filming, spend the night with the Bachelor in the 'Fantasy Suite.' And right on cue, he picks one to propose to in holy matrimony and spend the rest of his life with.

What is a better example for kids than that?

I hope they do it. No one will watch it and it will prove how little America cares about the gay community.

I would have no problem with this but ABC is not going to do this when the target audience that they would need to justify such a show is not there IE gay people being less than 2-3% of the population. America is still a heterosexual society and people would just not be comfortable watching something they can't relate to. The ever increasing american majority of straight people who support gay rights just wouldn't be able to relate to this and probably will not watch, and I'm one of them.

Homosexual relationships on dramas and other scripted TV shows are one thing but to put it on a show where relationships is the premise is another.

ABC would lose ratings and money.
