That was not the prime of his career. I would say 1987-1990 was the prime of Joe Montana's career.

Montana is the GOAT for the following reasons:

A) DBs could actually defend receivers and not have to worry about a PI flag for looking funny at a WR (2014 Seattle not included).

B) QBs were still treated the same as other football players - in other words, they could get blasted without expecting a flag (remember why the Brady rule is called the Brady rule).
