TL;DR
for real though..
26, born and raised in Denham Springs. Have always hunted and fished with my dad growing up. Got away from the fishing the last 5 years or so though and hunt only. Killed my first deer at 10 years old, still rememebr telling my dad to push against my shoulder because I was scared of the recoil. Still have the gun in my gun cabinet today. This was one of the first years I did most of everything myself. Makes me appreciate all the work he put in teaching me everything.

I remember shooting my grandad's 30-06 when I killed my first deer. My granddad laughed when I got home and told my parents that when the smoke cleared the deer was down. I think he got more excited about us killing a deer than he did when it was him killing one.
You would have thought he had won a million dollars when I killed my first buck. Heck I was excited myself but I think he definitely was more excited.
He had a nice 10 point that hung on the wall my whole life that he killed back in the 70s that would have probably scored around 135-140 and I almost ended up with it a couple months ago before we sold their house. I wanted to give everyone an opportunity to take it if they wanted it and one of my cousins took it and is going to have a new cape put on it. I'll be interested to see what the rack looks like on a modern mount. I've never seen one in person that was as close to being 100% perfect on both sides.
