Kiffin generated further controversy when he told recruit Alshon Jeffery that if Jeffery chose the Gamecocks, "he would end up pumping gas for the rest of his life like all the other players from that state who had gone to South Carolina."

Great recruiting technique.

did not read entire thread so this may be dutch....Kiffy was brought in to help Bama progress to a more up tempo offense like New England Runs. I sure hopes this means using the TE we have that is a match up night mare for any LB or S.

Until Kiffin proves otherwise it IS a bad hire.

You can't really believe this.

Has Kiffin has any experience or success with this?

Bama fans will tell you that's what he's been running at USCw, which is completely false btw.

My next door neighbor is a USCw alum so I've watched my share of games with him. Kiffin pretty much runs what Bama has been running for years with more emphasis on the deep ball. Kiffin must have done a helluva sales pitch if that's what got him the gig.

Man Saban is smart. He just hired his "official" "throw under the bus"'coach. Never know when you will need one, you know?

I agree with this ... the Kiffin experiment will either be a monumental success or a monumental failure ... I don't think there will be any grey area here.
