Charleston is a cleaner NOLA. The negatives of Charleston is the housing is pretty expensive and a smaller community. Overall there are less social things to do compared to New Orleans but so are most cities. Also it doesn't have a plethora of jobs. If I left New Orleans, Charleston would be one of the first places I look

That's not saying a lot. I've seen landfills that look cleaner than NO.
Seriously though, you can go to any corner of the country and unless you're speaking to a group who have "never been nowhere", all you have to do is say the words "cool place to visit other than the overwhelming aroma of human urine" and they will all immediately know you're talking about New Orleans.
