Charleston is far better than New Orleans in every way. There's hardly anything southern or charming about New Orleans today.

Charleston is a cleaner NOLA. The negatives of Charleston is the housing is pretty expensive and a smaller community. Overall there are less social things to do compared to New Orleans but so are most cities. Also it doesn't have a plethora of jobs. If I left New Orleans, Charleston would be one of the first places I look

Charleston has good food, but it's nothing good compared to NO.
