A noted hunting dog trainer, the guy had several books out and I met him at a DU dinner years ago, told me this one and I have used it successfully over the years on all types of breeds. When the dog jumps up, grab his paws and DO NOT LET GO. He will start whining and then he will try to bite your hands. Shove his paw in his mouth when he tries to bite.

Keep it up for a couple of minutes and then let go. Do this every time he jumps up and he will quit.
