Not sure, but I also remember it being a week or weeks. He was there long enough for the local children to teach him some Muslim prayers. He was also given some sort of leaf to chew on as a pain reliever (I'm sure it was poppy). So there was some time where he was in the village, and was taken care of by the local villagers.

An operation was sent in to extract him, and on July 2 – four days after his drop-off – Marcus Luttrell was able to get the medical attention he very badly needed
