In my opinion we are one stud receiver away from being great again. We will have a good run game next year with Khiry and all we really need to make the offense click is a stud receiver. Whoever that receiver is along with Kenny stills, Marques colston, and Joseph Morgan should be real fun to watch next year.

A new C/G and a stud WR, we would be right back at top of nfl I think.

Honestly, we probably need two receivers (unless Toon takes his head out of his arse).
One a return man.

And...Sproles getting old (and slower) is a problem I'm not sure what to do with.

I used to think we needed a center (and kinda still do), but DLP has been pretty solid lately.

We need that all purpose WR. "Stud" is a generic term. All of our WR's are role players, and none can play multiple roles. We need the big guy with some speed that can run any route effectively. Tough to find but necessary.

I think one receiver will be fine but it would need to be an elite tier guy like Fitz. Now… saying that… I have no idea how the Saints would obtain one. Colston is fine as a #2 but certainly isn't worth his contract numbers anymore. Stills is fine as #3. 4 = whoever. Moore and Meachem should be cut for cap space.

My wish list:

1. Maclin, Bolden, Cooper in FA (some combination of these 3)
2. Replacement for Sproles
3. Starting Khiry
4. New center and maybe right tackle

Free agents I would like
Decker
Edelman
Sanders
Maclin

Draft
Jordan Matthews 2nd round
Archer(sproles/McCluster type of player) 5th

Sign a free agent wr and draft Matthews and brees will have weapons. Moore, colston is not getting it done

We need a RT and a good receiver.

Zach Strief played poorly down the stretch in my opinion, he's a free agent, and he's getting older. His pass protection and run blocking are both subpar, and at this point he should only be a swing tackle. Finding a solid RT that excels in run blocking should be important. As Drew gets older, we're going to need to run the ball more. What's best is that this position can be addressed in the middle rounds.

Armstead is going to be a fixture on the left side for years.

As for WR, I don't think we need a guy to step in and be our new No. 1. Colston is still the guy there as he had a great run towards the end of the season. Plus, Kenny Stills will be even better, Morgan should be back, and Nick Toon might finally put it all together (even though that's a long shot). But, using a high pick on a guy like Jordan Matthews or Allen Robinson would be solid. Those guys, while not explosive, have size and run great routes.

As a bonus I would toss in a pass-catching RB. Sproles did not look himself for much of the season, and Pierre may not be able to stand much more of a beating. Both guys are on the wrong side of 30. We need productive catchers out of our backfield to operate this offense.

+ an upgrade at center. I would like a road grader that can help out the running game (which I think is going to be fine, it really improved late in the season against some teams that are good against the run) but pull DLP and have him down field a lot on screens, so they'll probably look for a more finesse athletic type.

First : an elite center or tackle. The absolute best of whichever we can get

Then a speed demon if the young guys we have now can't fill that role.

Then the other of the center or tackle.

An offense line that can protect Brees long enough to find an open reciever

Continue the transition to a power running team, which means PT and Sproles are out. Draft a third down back who also returns kicks.

Draft/sign another interior lineman and maybe one more tackle.

Find another solid WR who moves the chains.

Draft another TE within the next two seasons for when Watson retires.
