Pete Carroll says hello here. I think you have to put Pete in the elite category now, especially of he wins the Super Bowl this year. Belichick has been elite for quite some time, fwiw.

I knew he was an ok NFLcoach before USC, but he's really done such a great job in Seattle. Much better than I had imagined him being.

Pete Carroll hasn't had to deal with half the adversity that Belicheck has this season. No way the Seahawks get a top seed if they lose players like Sherman, Lynch, Thomas, the way the Pats lost Gronk, Wilfork, and others, while signing guys that were playing Xbox during the season.
