I have a soundbar, blue ray player, xbox, and cable box all pluged into the same power strip and those items were not affected at all. Pretty weird that only the tv messed up

Call the tv company and tell them what happened.
Same kind of thing happened with a blue ray player. I was going to chunk it, but called the company and she gave me a reset sequence that turned it on again.

It's a little odd that none of them are messed up, or partially messed up. A lot of times it fries the main board (one with all the inputs) since it handles all the low voltage signals. It will travel down the coax line or HDMI.
I had mine blow out my TV main board (separate outlet) and my stereo receiver which was on a surge protector. Nothing else on surge protector went out, including PS3, Wii, DVR, etc.

I'd invest in a surge protector as well
