I don't think you're "born gay" but at the same time I do think that you're taught to be feminine or masculine from an early age. I have a gay cousin who swears he's always known he's gay from a very early age.

I guess that this is the same old nature vs nurture thing. It seems intuitive that it would be some combination of the two.

Having children tells you that kids come out how they are without much of your input. My little boy was into trucks and trains without any coaxing at all.
