FWIW, the DA publicly cleared him of any wrong doing months ago.

I don't mean to nitpick, but this isn't true. There were very few people that knew and allowed that sick bastard to molest children and they were all dealt with as soon as it came to light. Penn State as a whole did what it should have done once it received information about the molestation(s). I know that JoePa was considered a deity at PSU but he wasn't Penn State. There's a reason that Penn State is also a highly ranked academic university.

With that said, I'm more concerned with the sabotage stories that are beginning to crop up. If true we don't need a guy like that, and I feel sorry for Vanderbilt fans.

This is fricking retarded.

He kicked them off the team. Its not like he can be fricking omnipotent and know exactly what players are going to do.

Something terrible happened. He responded accordingly. You know, exactly how Penn State didn't.

If anything, that's perfect for them.

Agree 100%, and I have absolutely no dog in the fight.

Do DAs charge every murderer with evidence tampering if they wipe down their weapon for prints?

If you're talking about assistant coaches recruiting hot wives, your sense of humor is busted. It was said while smiling and obviously a joke.

Good luck in their search to find a coach who has NEVER had any players go wrong.

So because he had stupid team members do something despicable and unlike Peterno kicked them off the team and hasn't been tied to it, he shouldn't be hired?

I mean, PSU has no moral high ground EVER against a coach that had some bad apples either as players or on their staff.

There are rumors that he told players to delete related text messages. Which, if true (I doubt it), would be all kinds of PR trouble for Penn State.

Not only that there was the odd testimony of Boyd that the DA, Judge, etc. just left hanging out there. A lot of things were left unexplored and written off as rumor could be dug into now that he's out of a friendly area. The larger press never cared to explore things while he was at Vandy but now with PSU, I suspect a lot of digging will happen because of PSU's own issues. I won't be surprised if it all gets blown up pretty big.

Yeah. Petrino would've been a much better hire.

Maybe my reading comprehension is failing me, but do you think the OP is about PSU people not wanting Franklin? The entire point of the OP is the media is stupid for suggesting Penn State shouldn't hire Franklin because of what those players did.
Reading your follow up post just tells me you are an uninformed idiot, so I guess it's not me, it's you.

Go ask any defense attorney about that and ask for an off the record answer and every damn one of em will tell you they would advise their clients yo erase that shite too. Sorry but that's not vovering up shite that's just protecting your own. H

No. That s probably more a waste of time/ignorant. I'm not as tech savvy as most ,but can't police retrieve all text message records anyway whether erased from the phone or not?

If anything tell them not to send possibly incriminating text messages.

I would think his actions during the rape case would make him more desirable for Penn St since he has shown that he won't cover up crimes for his players.

The problem is that there are still some very quiet whispers of people thinking he DID cover it up to some degree. The DA's office has cleared him completely, but the whispers will always exist.
