Apparently he reached out to LSU and A&M after his decommit. How good is this guy? Is he worth a spot?

watched his film some time ago and remembered thinking he was a poor mans JC Copeland. He has a higher ceiling as a DT IMO.

Who is the DT from St Augustine mentioned in the article, Courtney Garnett?

Texas’ 2014 class took a hit on Tuesday night when four-star San Antonio Warren defensive tackle Trey Lealaimatafao decommitted. But the Longhorns and new head coach Charlie Strong suffered an even bigger blow just a couple of hours later.

Four-star Saint Augustine (LA) defensive tackle Courtney Garnett also backed out of his pledge, leaving the Longhorns with Longview’s Zaycoven Henderson as the lone interior defensive lineman left in the class.

“It was the coaching change and not wanting to be in an environment where I wasn’t recruited by that staff,” Garnett told ESPN.com. “I don’t think I’d feel comfortable. Right now, there’s no communication with the new staff. I don’t know if they’ve called any of the current commits. It’s a long process, and I just want to make sure I’m comfortable wherever I go.”

When asked about Mack Brown resigning, Garnett said it didn’t affect him as long as defensive tackle Bo Davis was kept on staff. But Davis accepted a job with USC on Tuesday.

And it didn’t seem Garnett was all that excited about Texas hiring Strong. Moments after tweeting that he was no longer committed, Garnett retweeted this ESPN tweet:

Garnett is ranked as the No. 39 defensive tackle in the nation and No. 22 overall prospect in the state of Louisiana. He is now down to Oklahoma,Tennessee and USC.

He's quick and nasty. Reminds me of Copeland coming out. Has relentless hustle too.

If he ends up here, his name would have to begin at the bottom of his left pant leg, arc at his shoulders, and down his right pant leg.

I know Rivals are excited to see us get one of their 3 star players. Maybe Kelly to. Now none of these 3 star players maybe be a 3 but could be 4's, but everyone now were probably "backburners".
