Saban and Nuss had different philosophies and weren't a good fit.

I've been trying to figure this out since I first read it. The only thing that makes sense is a falling out privately between Nuss and Saban.

I see the disaster this season coming down to two defensive failures - the auburn TD pass in the waning minutes of the iron bowl, and giving up first and thirty to OU. Nuss did fine from what I can see.

He was probably fired, but Saban helped him
find a new gig. Bama was supposed to have an
awesome offense this season, but was average at best.
It was time for a change at OC. Too many weapons to
