When the Hall started, there were 16 teams in all of MLB. There are now 30 teams, which means nearly twice as many players on the day-to-day 25-man roster, let alone the expanded 40-man roster.

A widely expanded roster of potential players should, in turn, raise the limit from 10 players per ballot to probably 15 or 20.


That would get rid of a lot of the horseshite vote-trading where people vote to keep a guy on the ballot rather than vote for a different guy whom they figure will be getting in anyway.

i think this is such a small issue its not even worth bringing it up to them. voters who currently work for golfwest.com and cooking channels is a much bigger issue.
