I worded that wrong. He was trying to get the regents to oust the president (I'm pretty sure the regents voted to keep Powers last month) in order to change the focus of the academic direction of the school.

Fortunately, the regents at both flagship universities know that Perry is a lame duck and are refusing to fall in line.
