Yes he did but it had nothing to do with any type of substitution or hurry up. He broke his chin strap on the play and did it to prevent LSU getting charged with a timeout. Smart thinking if you ask me.

On a sidenote, it's fun to see a team try the uptempo and get absolutely destroyed on it - like LSU did Oregon in 2011.
