Look at this website. They set up the bow and tune it all at a reasonable price and ship in a reasonable amount of time. I would call them tomorrow and describe your needs to them, they have helped me on numerous occasions.

Bowtech assasin one of teh best deals IMO. Comes ready to shoot out of the box with rest, sight, etc. all u need to buy is arrows.

Check ebay, I ended up picking up an invasion a couple years ago damn near brand new for $700 rigged out when just the bow brand new was selling for $900

I would shoot as many bows as you can till you find the one that feels good to you. Then find the best deal on that bow. Just bc a Matthews Bowtech Hoyt etc. is good for some ppl doesn't mean that will be the best bow for you.

Without a doubt the best advice!

I personally was dead set on a matthews mainly because of the name until I shot a bowtech.

Used Mathews from Switchback forward in your precise draw.

I've had an Ally since 07 and can't get rid of it

Keep looking at new bows but just can't justify dropping 1k on something that doesn't kill any deader than the one I've got.

And to the OP, if you are just starting out, you can find some 06-09 models of Bowtechs for much more reasonable prices over the Mathews line usually. Mathews fanboys will try to get their money back on resales more times than not. I'd look at the Allegiance, Patriot, Guardian, Admiral, etc. if you're just trying to get started. Put a Saunders cable slide on and a good sight and strings and you're good to go.

There's a reason for that. Those bows are junk.

Bowtechs are not junk. You must be a Matthews frat boy.

I've been hunting as long as I can remember and been bowhunting for almost 10 years. I shoot an old McPherson right now. Just upgrading before next season

Many are. Some are not. When Bowtech was changing cam systems every year and redesigning risers due to poor design, the bows were junk. The only people shooting them were doing so just so they could say they were not shooting Mathews. Look, I don't hide the fact that I like Mathews. I also like Hoyt, Prime, Athens, Strother and Elite. I don't like Bowtech, and I have reason that have nothing to do with Mathews. Looks like they have now gone back to a true twin cam while calling it the previous system. What a joke. No thanks.

In the last six years I've owned a bow made by each of the "Big Three". OP-take the advice of others and shoot different bows until you find what you like. Finally, there's a reason that Mathews bows command a higher price in the used market, and its because people are willing to pay it.....

I was looking at the Matthews mission ballistic. And the only thing bad about it is the grip. But I can get it under 400.

I shoot a Ross now, it's several years old.I have owned Mathews a Mathews switchback and outback. I like both of them, but I recently just shot an Elite...It's money. It will be my next one.
