Coach Strong (Texas) and Sumlin (TAMU) will play major roles in LSU and other Big 12 schools entering Texas for recruits.

Before we can focus on their impact for recruiting, our coaching staff needs to find a way to repair the fence that has been broken in the state. TAMU, AUBURN and BAMA have been in the state a lot getting good to great players. Now we have to contend with Florida in 2015 (Hunter Dale and others) as well.

Personally, I think a solid year on the football field in 2014 will go a long way in recruiting, especially if we beat some of those schools head-to-head on the field.

This is always the most important aspect of these types of situations. As for Strong's effect on our Texas recruiting, that is tough. I don't see him shutting down the Tigers in Texas at all. I do see him targeting different players than Mack which will effect the individual recruiting battles. In other words, if he targets smaller, spread guys, then he will be recruiting against LSU less, etc.

In the end, I think that it will all come down to Strong being able to reclaim the "Big Brother" status over the other Texas schools. He will need to do this in order to close universities like LSU and other SEC powers out of Tx. I personally hope that he immediately jumps on Brown and gets him away from Bama because Brown is going to be a thorn in our sides for three full years.
