I can understand guys leaving if they are going in the top 3-4 rounds.

you say this, but the money isn't that much different than a 6th rounder and a 4th rounder anymore

thus the point of the OP

Yet, this hasn't seemed to affect 97% of other teams like it is affecting LSU. I don't think people know why it is happening, but to blow it off and say "well it's cause they get the same money as a 4th rounder as they'll get as an undrafted free agent" doesn't hold water when the vast majority of other schools aren't having this drastic of an issue.

I can't blame a couple of the guys, but if someone like Turner leaves, then you have a serious problem that is prevalent.

you keep saying this, but it doesn't make it any less false. See my other thread on it.

quote:

Average salary is about 45-55% higher for the 3rd rounder vs 6th/undrafted guy.

Where it REALLY makes a difference is in signing bonus -- 3rd rounds get $500K-700K, whereas the other get $0-$100K.

I know you said 4th rounder, not 3rd rounder, but there is still a significant difference in signing bonus.

People seem to think under the new CBA that 3rd round-through-undrafted are all pretty much the same now.
