Good episode. Tragic and thought-provoking. Apollo is a sympathetic character and pitiful despite his great power. He can hardly talk to the crew without mentioning his long-gone companions and desperately wants to recreate the past with them.
This was also a well-acted episode, particularly by Forest. Without a good performance from him, the credibility of the entire episode would suffer. He reprises his role of Apollo in the Star Trek fan fim "Pilgrim of Eternity."

It was a little change up for the landing party - swapping Chekov for Spock. He had a couple of good lines, including, "And I'm the Czar (Tsar) of all the Russias."
