How about trying holding home button and power buttons at the same time. When the Apple boot logo
appears,and then release power button but continue holding the home button? And see if your iPhone works normally.
If the solution cannot fix iPhone stuck on apple logo,I think you may go to the nearest Apple consumer service.

Thanks to lasong, the OP will finally be able to get that blasted Apple icon off his iPhone after 5 long months.
