We lost my son's buck this year because he talked me into getting down and going to look for it. I knew it was hit very good but it had just finished raining and the blood trail was very hard to follow in wet pine straw. It taught him a lesson to be patient and give them time. If we had waited it would have died 10yds from where he shot it.

So the motto is don't push them if it's a long blood trail go back in minimum 2 hours to look for it. If you can leave it over night.
