Speaks decommitting from OM would almost be like us losing Ed Paris.

Maybe. Does Paris have a team he grew up loving that isn't recruiting him presently though?

Ok...... LSU should just stop then I agree though, LSU needs to go after the best 10 at any position and take whom ever comes first. That way they know we want them from the start, no back up anything...... Go after the 10 best and you have a shot at hard from the start, great work ethic, character, coach-ability, measurable's and go after those guys. The ones that really want to be here will come the ones that don't will play around, so we get what we want and need and not left hanging. I don't understand this?? Why don't we just go get whom ever forget what a recruit thinks about it if he doesn't understand well that's a pretty big character issue.

I only meant that Speaks has been one of their most avid recruiters. Very vocal and he has helped land several of their commits.

Speaks reminds me of Bennie Logan.

If he's taking an OV this month, then I don't care what Ole Miss says, they should be worried. If he's so damn solid, he wouldn't be seeking other opportunities this late in the game.

I guarantee to you he's completely torn right now.

I remember seeing that somewhere, and it wasn't on a OM board (since I don't think I've ever visited one).

Gotcha. It would definitely leave him looking bad in those guys eyes. If the "dream" part is true- it at least makes him think though. In the end probably too much time invested to bail.

Yeah... I am trying to understand that knowledge too. If he is 100% to OM, why the official visit to LSU then?

Ha! Me neither. Im not trying to be negative about Speaks, I just don't think people grasp how hard it will be to flip him. If we do, great job by the coaches.

It will def be hard to flip any kid but for LSU to be his dream school and to take an OF to LSU, please do not tell me he is 100% OM.

If we can indeed get him on campus there's a "viable" (wtf is that? medium? 50.01%?) chance. Only because of the dream school comments though (and a NOLA-Dad connection).

ETA: if you want to get some perspective on Speaks go visit some Piggie boards. Guy who works with me is an AR fan, he camped there a couple of times. After the reports from their camps they wanted him bad. OM kind of snatched him out from under their noses.

Dream school may be a little bit of an embellishment but for a kid that grew up close to LSU and to get an offer is pretty cool. When he was younger LSU won a national championship so it is flattering. He really did fly under the radar during recruiting so you can't fault LSU staff for not identifying him earlier. Also, he is still lined up for his OV to oxford 1/24. That's the major hurdle.

Yeah please slow down funny how u guys think a recruit is the best thing since slice bread until he commits somewhere else

This board popped boners on the reg talking about how great of players CRob, Hootie, Willis, and Speedy are. Now all of the sudden Cams got too much bad weight, Hootie is soft, we would rather Nacho than Speedy, and a Speaks/Valentine combo would be better than Willis because he's a tweener. It's pathetic and we look like Bama fans.

Btw, I'm not calling out anyone I'm this thread in particular, just stating what I've noticed over the past couple of months since these guys started committing elsewhere.

Well, that's not quite the complete word coming out of Lake Chuck. I'm hearing some chatter that says otherwise.
