I like how we forget the UGA and Ole Miss games at convenient times.

In my personal opinion, that had a LOT more to do with scheme than players. When Chavis went to the soft zone, our players got passive and reactive. You saw that a LOT this year. Then look at the Iowa and A&M games. When he put a little more faith in the players, went to man coverage, and applied more pressure to the opposing QB, we got more aggressive and a LOT more effective. Think about how young we were in the secondary. And look at where the Iowa and A&M games fell. A&M after and open date. Iowa after a bowl break. I guess when he felt he could prepare them adequately, he turned them loose.

Considering how he has called things with more experienced Ds in previous years, we should be fine. The young guys in the secondary are growing up and getting it. You'll probably see a lot more aggressiveness and trust from Chavis with our D next year.

Our DB's have actually shown progression, i'd say.

LSU has played very well at CB since going to more of a man than the zone you saw in those games. Plus our starters at CB have changed since the UGA game. Mills looks much better at safety.
