I still like the division format and providing teams with the incentive of winning the division = playoffs even if it means an 8-8 champ gets in over a 11-5 non-division winner. With everybody playing intra-division games yesterday, there was a lot of high drama. If you take away that incentive and you essentially do away with divisons. With that you would lose some great, long standing, intra-division rivalries.
However, I don't think you should get a home game and higher seed just because you won the division. Once the playoff teams are set seed them according to record. If that means that 2 teams from the NFC West are #1 and #2 then so be it.
