Ok Archie Bunker.

His positions speak for themselves.

When they come back with the positions de blasio supports and runs a campaign on them, yes.

If this were some random town in flyover country, no.

In NYC, America's biggest city and the face of this country's reputation and biggest landmarks, hell yes.

NYC affects you thousands of miles away in Austin.

But you see my problem is that ultimately I do agree with conservatives in the sense that we are a vast country with many different types of people and value systems. In many ways we are a conglomerate of 7 or 8 different "countries" under one flag. Different parts of the country do not understand other parts. By and large I respect each culture and it's right to self determine what's best for that particular city or region (subject to the direction of the powers given to the federal government via the constitution.)

But yet conservatives COMPLETELY throw their own way of thinking out the window as soon as a locality decides it wants to be more liberal than they'd like. Then it's a national crisis and their new mayor is a communist

Then why do you push for so much federal power? By your own logic, a powerful federal government can in no way better manage the affairs of a state better than that state.

I don't give a shite what New York does. Maybe some of the business that flees NYC will come to PHX.

Detroit 2.0, anyone?

I don't think it's a national crisis at all. New Yorkers are completely fricked, but they'll get what they deserve. They voted for the guy. I just find it ironic that a man who was impeached and disbarred for breaking his oath will take the oath of office from another man.

Not yet.

Seriously, Detroit used to be a HUGE hub of money. Now it's a shithole. I'll let you figure out why.

De Blasio is a degenerate and married to a "former" black lesbian. Seriously, the guy is a shizo with ethnic identity disorder.

re: Bill Clinton to swear in New York Mayor

This was interesting:

quote:

Mr. de Blasio previously worked for the couple, serving in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development during Mr. Clinton’s administration and later managing Mrs. Clinton’s successful Senate campaign in 2000.

The Clintons did not endorse Mr. de Blasio in the hotly contested Democratic primary, but both of them endorsed him after he clinched his party’s nomination in September. Mrs. Clinton, who has not publicly said whether she will run for president in 2016, appeared as the headline guest at a fundraiser for Mr. de Blasio in October that generated more than $1 million for his campaign.

Clinton's character is laughable, and it's a joke that he's administering an oath. As far as why NYC politics matters, NY currently holds 29 seats in the electoral college, and NYC includes 8.34 million out of the state's 19.57 people. The city has a pretty significant impact on politics at the national level.

Nobody has thrown their way of thinking out the window. People on here are saying NYC will get what they deserve...doesn't mean we can't be concerned that a person like him actually obtained office in one of the country's most influential cities.

We are just calling a spade a spade...based on his policies he seems to have a communist type agenda.

I don't mind one bit that NYC elected a communist. I think it might actually be good for the rest of us. It will likely strobe the rich and businesses out of NYC, and since I do business in PHX, Charlotte, ATL some of those big money people might land in a beneficial place for me. The entire state of NY can go full pinko commie and it's all good. My problem is when they push their ideals on the rest of the nation and force the rest of us to obey.
