I use the SST to reload for my 300RUM. I have found it to be the most accurate hunting round for me.Keep in mind the SST is designed for long range,and just like Tigeronthe hill said high velocity will cause seperation. That lil red tip is there to make the bullet expand at long range once velocity has dropped off quite a bit. I have seen seperation out to 250yds. At long range range it performs excellent. Keep in mind,it's still excellent at short range too.
