Judgement calls by officials can really affect the outcome of games. In the end fans say, "the refs didn't lose the game, it was our inability to..." but in a lot of cases judgement calls can lead to 3, 7, 10, etc point swings. I know this has been brought up before but its worth pushing for in the NFL and even college imo. It may slow down the game by an extra 10 minutes but I think its worth getting these often huge momentum swing plays correct. So do you think a coach should be able to challenge a PI, Holding, Helmet to helmet and so on?

I imagine this will be brought up in the offseason.

It will be interesting to see how this changes the dynamics of the game.

I think the issue is overturning judgement calls. It would seem that the call would have to be blatantly wrong for it to be overturned as most officials aren't going to overturn a 50/50 call of one of his crew members.

Also it would seem that you could track the number of overturned judgement calls of each referree and use it as a measure of accuracy (which im not arguing is a baf thing).

I think all penalties should be able to be challenged with each game having a head ref in the booth who's only responsibility is to make a judgment on the call.

I think the helmet to helmet and defenseless player penalties should be reviewed.

They should be taken out, you have a helmet and shoulder pads, you're not defenseless

I think so. Keep the same challenge rules but allow anything to be challengeable.

The idea that allowing coaches to challenge judgment calls would slow the game down is illogical. A coach gets two challenges. If you expand challengeable plays, he still gets two challenges.

Penn Wagers wouldn't have a single call stand if judgment calls were overturned.
