Ed did a great job, and surpassed expectations. Being HC at SC is a situation where surpassed expectations and superlatives are the norm. He lost to ND, and lost to ucla. The team looked unprepared, and the required adjustments weren't made. You can't do that and be the head coach at USC, not in this day and age.

This is a fricking joke. You guys just went 7-6. Kiffin looked unprepared as hell the entire time he was at Southern Cal and it only took until now for him to get fired... but SC is "above" the guy who went 6-2 in his stead because he lost overmatched games against Notre Dame and UCLA.

Orgeron would be a great hire for the open position, but the arrogance behind your argument for not hiring him is astounding. If the Southern Cal athletic department thought the same way I can see why Orgeron didn't stick around.

Well, it's pretty funny that you think a 10-4 team just went 7-6.

Kiffin was a caretaker coach who bought himself some time with a 10 win season. With the spotlight on him the following year, he sucked. He continued to suck into this season, and he was accountable for the losses to WSU (unforgiveable) and ASU (understandable, but not in that manner).

This is what it feels like with SC and Texas. More SC. I'm not sure Texas was holding out for Saban as much as people say. I think the whole Saban thing was media and internet explosion of retardation. But both seem like they're just expecting great coaches to drop whatever they're doing and be so honored to coach these programs..two programs that have definitely dropped off in recent years.
