Buy a house or rent

I'll be graduating very soon, and I'm pretty sure the company I plan on working for will require me to travel a bit; 3months-1 year at a time possibly. I will get paid per diem when out of town which would cover renting expenses. Would it be best for me to attempt to buy a house right after graduation or rent for a year or two and then buy?
*Seems to me I'd be wasting my money if I rent in two cities instead of owning in the city I technically live in and renting for out of town jobs. I'm very uneducated in the housing market and you all have been helpful every time I've come here so I figured I'd start here for guidance. Excuse any typos, posted from my phone.

Definately rent.
Sounds like you will need to either cut down your possessions to the bare minimum or rent a storage place. For times when you plan to be "home" I would try to find short term motnhly rentals or a room mate.

I think you'd really need to know your work situation before making that kind of decision.
Are you single? Do your parents live in the same town that your work is based out of? If yes to both, I would suggest living with them until you get a feel for the amount of travel you will be doing.
