No he wasn't. This whole handling of the Mack Brown situation the last few years is exactly why.

Well if we ever got to the negotiation phase, they may very well have been right. No one counted on Mack Brown being retained.

The Board of Regents was never on the same page as the boosters. That was the problem. This should've been more focused on handling Mack Brown departure more discreetly and with more class. Instead it became all about Saban.
