It wasn't so much that they swung for the fences that did them in but the fact that they panicked and didn't know how to handle Mack.
At midseason, it seemed to be a done deal that Mack would "voluntarily resign" but he actually turned his season somewhat around.
Yeah, he went from "fired" to "future AD" in 48 hours.
