yeah, they can't stay out of trouble
I enjoyed the movie after seeing it tonight. Smaug was probably the best done dragon I've seen in the theater to date. I do wish Jackson would take a hint from Game of Thrones and realize drama increases when major characters die. I know that would require additional deviation from the book but it was well done generally when he did just that. For example, I like Jackson's liberties with respect to the men of the lake the the black arrow myth. It was pretty funny after a few seconds to realize the bad guy in laketown was none other than Stephen Fry.
It was an enjoyable movie experience overall and better in the theater than I expect it would be on the smaller screen.
