Everyone is giving their opinion on the situation, but not highlighting the obvious reasons for Saban to leave. People want to say well what if it doesn't work in Texas? It will work! Anyone with that amount of coaching experience tossed into the hotbed of Texas Football talent can win 10+ games each year. Also, you throw in the fact that Saban will not have to face off against a tough opponent each week in the Big 12 as he has been doing in the SEC. Then you throw in Age. Saban is at an age where he can still do everything he loves to do and not be too restricted. So freshing things up to lead yet another school that is dominant in College Football History to a National Championship is pure genius. Then you have the Money. The money is in Texas and nowhere else like it. Texas can go as far as offering Stocks in Oil Companies. I mean its just a no brainer for Saban at this point in his career. He is a guy who needs to be challenged and wants to win. Urban left the SEC to go into a conference with a Juggernaut school so he can contend each year for a National Championship and not have to worry about going through a gauntlet like the SEC. Saban will do the same. It's easy. Saban wins a National Title with Texas within the first 3 years of coaching there and will probably retire after he wins his 2nd with Texas. I say Saban is retired in 5-6 years. Alabama will be relevant still, but similar to the downfall Florida had after Urban left. They will still be a contending team, but just not the same. I think Kirby Smart takes over in Alabama.

Want to guess how I know you didn't graduate from Texas?

In all seriousness, there are certainly pros for Saban to go to Texas. Money and the potential for an Urban Meyer situation are easily the Top 2.

That said, it isn't like he is going to have more advantages at Texas than he does currently at Bama in regards to what matters in recruiting. He can basically cherry pick the country right now at Bama. At Texas he will have great resources but he will still be having to sell the BDF to recruits over the SEC. He still has to start over once again and he isn't a Spring Chicken. Everything is also predicated on the assumption he will win and win BIG almost immediately, what if that doesn't happen?

If Texas does get Saban it's a great move for them but it's not the end of the world for everyone else.
