Not to be rude but lets face the facts here. Not many people here are excited about this game because Iowa is a middle of the pack team in a WEAK B1G conference!

Even I admit I hate LSU's offense sometimes cause they play that boring Big 10 football.

Their is nothing flashy about Iowa. They are just there! Hope it turns out to be a good game.

Well, the BIG isn't a "weak" conference. That is just hogwash (like that one?)

The eSECpn network likes to help drum up that perception too but it simply isn't the case.

The SEC/BCS has been favorable to the SEC though but it is not as high and mighty as everyone wants to believe.

Since the BCS started:
SEC vs. Big 10 regular season: 7-4
SEC vs. Big 10 bowl games: 19-19

Not that dominant.

Iowa is 3-1 vs SEC (4-1 if you count the most recent victory over Missery the year they joined)

I've seen the pic. there's no holding. Watch the video live....

Can't unring a bell, it's already rung. The defense was as bad as it gets as we rushed half-arse rushed 6 guys and left a man running down the hash unmarked and nobody over the top.

But, Hinkel(#11) pulls T. Daniels by the arm and then straightens his arm blocking him from pursuing the angle on Holloway while the ball is in the air. On the other side, Chandler (#87) then pulls Gordon from behind at the top of both of his shoulders. Gordon wasn't in position to get him but it was a hold nevertheless.

Well that is subjective and you are very bias.

It isn't a strong one. Let's take draft picks for instance...

quote:

The SEC dominated Thursday night's first round, accounting for 12 of the first 31 picks (as opposed to just one for the Big Ten and Big East). The league's dominance continued through all three days, with its 63 draft picks setting a new record for most from one conference and doubling the total of any other league. The vast majority of those selections came from the SEC's four premiere programs: Alabama, Georgia, Florida and LSU. Those four teams accounted for more draft picks than any league.

The ACC recorded 31 picks, including six in the first round. It was a disappointing draft for the Big Ten and Big 12, which only got 22 selections each.

How about titles? During the BCS era...

2012 Alabama BCS
2011 Alabama BCS
2010 Auburn BCS
2009 Alabama BCS
2008 Florida BCS
2007 Louisiana State BCS
2006 Florida BCS
2005 Texas BCS
2004 Southern California BCS
2003 Louisiana State, Southern California BCS, AP, FWAA
2002 Ohio State BCS
2001 Miami (Fla.) BCS
2000 Oklahoma BCS
1999 Florida State BCS
1998 Tennessee BCS

That's 9 titles by the SEC, one by the Big 10. In fact, were it not for tOSU, the Big 10 would have ZERO appearances in the title game. The last two times they showed up in the big game...you guessed it...they got waxed by and SEC team.

The Big 10, by ANY measure, is a lesser football conference to the SEC. Nothing to do with ESPN and everything to do with the product being put on the field. The outcome of our upcoming game has little to do with this truth.

You guys always link the one clip that is the most distorted and never shows the other angle. Not that it matters much but...

The other one

@ 2:08-:10 Hinkel extending the arm

@ 3:18 Hinkel holding the shoulder and extending the arm to knock him Daniels off the angle (left of screen) and Chandler pulling Gordon from behind at the edge of the bottom right screen

I am not bias to the Big 10. I said nothing about the SEC. If I said the SEC was the best conference (which they are) then my opinion would be bias.

You posted the SAME video with the same penalties that weren't called that allowed you to have the greatest victory in the last 30 years.

True, but I find the general feel from the fans kind of reflects on the overall atmosphere of the game. I see LSU taking Iowa lightly (albeit not as lightly as the fans you better hope). And Iowa working their asses off this month to end this season with a big W. Also Ferentz went to the Orange Bowl after the 02 season and they partied in miami and had fun. They got blown out by USC. Ever since then Ferentz is all business with bowl games. It's only a vacation for the fans and the band. And it shows in Iowa's bowl record since then.

Last year had too many LSU players looking at the draft and not in the game. Not this year. We have two DT who have to have a great game to even think about the draft. WR are set and their are two more studs at WR behind them. O-line is set as is the secondary. Linebackers, especially one, has to have a incredible game to keep their starting roles or make a name in the draft. Our stockpile of RBs is

No one here wants a repeat of last year of being less than motiviated. There is more riding on this game for LSU than any Iowanina (?) can imagine. Iowa could play the underdog role well in 2004 because of LSU one year off the 2003 championship and such, but not this year.

Tigers are going to have a nasty F(#King attitude with this game. It has much more to lose than Iowa and it will show.

Enjoy the pregame Hawkeyes. Might be the best part of the trip.

I can see the team taking it lightly. LSU usually doesn't get up for shite teams in shite bowls. See the chicken bowl last year.

Most here know questions need question marks...so no?

We just think you program, for the most part, is a middle of the road program in a bloated past-its-prime conference living off of the memories of when it used to be relevant.

Your mileage clearly varies.

Guy asks a question, and ends it with a period. Yet we are the illiterate ones.
