Ticket sales to any non-BCS Bowl this year would be slow. LSU fans have been to Dallas quite a bit lately. No one wants to go back to Atlanta. Florida bowls are farther away and more expensive.

Add the fact LSU fans aren't happy the last two years and you have the making of slow ticket sales.

That's funny because Iowa will bring at least 20,000. From Iowa.

In 2005, it was about 60/40 Iowa/us.

Hammer meet nail. They force us to spend extra money traveling to see the one decent OCC game we get per year, then wonder why we don't want to jump up and disrupt our holidays to drive forever or spend out the wazoo for a flight to watch a midday start New Year's Day against a team with zero appeal. We aren't all OT rich, believe it or not.

The LSU fan base in general are not happy campers. And I'm not talking about the Rant fan base of junior high, senior high and college student message board geeks that proliferate on here. I'm talking about the the legitimate base of fans and alums with jobs, wifes and real lifes.

What with the dominance of Alabama and the sudden rise of Auburn, most everybody is fed up with the mediocrity of #3 in the SEC West, Chicken and Outback Bowls, 3 loss seasons, having to witness losing to vastly inferior teams, (Black Bears) miracles to beat other vastly inferior teams (Took a lucky JennSwag produced miracle to beat god awful R-Kansas in the finale) and watching regression or no improvement during the season.

Most of us are just fed up with this crape' and are not excited about the program because we know exactly who is in charge and exactly what the situation is that we presently find ourselves. There's great recruiting every year and then poor development and management of those recruits once they reach campus. We know where the problems are.

No reason for optimism until Les continues to show us that he'll make the necessary staff changes that will lead to an improvement in coaching that is sorely lacking at some positions.

Camerban was a great (And totally necessary) start, but at minimum there needs to be at least one new coach on offense and one on defense. Most of us know at what positions those are. (Mawae and Cooper Rx's would be just what the doctor ordered)

Improve (Publish) or perish. So until we see those assistant coaching changes and it translates to wins on the field, the real LSU fan base will remain lethargic and unexcited.
