I did the same thing this very time of year 7 seasons ago. I have never been that cold before that trip or after. There was 9" of snow on the ground and the temps never got above a single degree the five days we were there. The wind blew like a bus load of figs and I was the only one that killed a deer that trip. The guide told us that December was brutal for how hunting because the rut was over and the big boys were bedded up.

I am a few hours away on the Illinois/ Indiana state line. We got about 8-12 inches of snow since Thursday. Went out to the hunting area yesterday afternoon and there were tracks everywhere from the moving around. Hoping to take down one of the 8 points tomorrow that has been showing up on the cams.
