Kinda late to the party and my perfect deer rifle will actually be a handgun (been more than 20 years since I killed a deer w/ a rifle). I've not yet started work on this project, but prolly will in next few years.
Primary usage: Box stands overlooking food plots w/ shooting lanes up to 225 yds long; box stand on very wide and long powerline w/ shots up to 200-250 yards.
Caliber: 284 Win
Stock: McMillian synthetic w/ sling studs and "Just Sling It" sling.
Barrel/action: Remington XP-100. Undecided on barrel make, but will prolly McGowen, Shilen or Douglas. Will be 16" long w/ a fairly heavy contour (0.9" diameter at muzzle).
Optics: Burris 3-12X handgun scope in Burris Signature Z Rings on top of Weaver one piece scope base.
Will look a lot like this XP, but will have heavier barrel contour.
