That's so late in the game, though.

Tennessee was fricked in terms of hiring a coach after Kiffin left partially because he didn't bolt for USC until early January after their bowl.

Same deal for Michigan -- didn't fire Rich Rod until after the Gator Bowl and then had to settle for Hoke because they couldn't get Harbaugh or Miles.

If you're gonna get rid of your coach and try to land a decent name, you better do it before the bowls start or you're generally out of luck.

Eh, Harbaugh was going to be an NFL coach anyway.

worked out well with Foley and Zook, and got UF Urban Meyer.
