I'll disagree a bit with this - it's true that Briles voted Texas 5th, but even if he would have voted Texas 1st, that would likely not been enough to put Texas over OU in the BCS poll (which was the tiebreaker for the Big12). Four other coaches also voted Texas 5th (of course, 4-5 voted Texas 1st as well, amazingly Mack voted us #2...thanks Mack!).
Yes, there are some butthurt fans still (stupid in my opinion) but that alone would not rule Briles out. If anything, the bad blood between Briles and the Texas program (mainly Mack) due to the treatment of Briles's son at Texas is more of a hindrance.

It has - maybe I should clarify. To the extent someone is saying that's the only reason, I disagree. To the extent it is one of the reasons - the main one now being his buyout - then I'll agree.

I don't see Saban leaving what he has built to start over again.
I also don't see Malzahn job hopping once again when he should have a much imrpoved team next season.
I could however see Texas taking a guy like Les Miles. Les has done an outstanding job at LSU, and the fans seem on the edge with him. If offered I could easily see Les making the move.
