I purchased my shotgun (typical friend of a friend situation) and it had a choke with it. After taking it hunting a few times, and not hitting anything, I looked to see what type of choke was it was. It has an extended tube Full Turkey choke.

I live in Lake Arthur (Jeff Davis Parrish) and have checked out Academy and Dick's sporting...but neither carry a Mossberg Modified extended tube (non-Turkey) choke. Does anyone have any advice, or other places I could check. I'll be looking at Lafayette Shooters on Saturday.

It doesn't need to be an extended tube to work. You should have no problem finding a standard modified choke

You can order online. I don't know if this is the best price, but...

Not hitting anything....... you sure it isn't just your shooting skills. FYI if your shooting skills aren't up to scale then no business having a extended range choke. Basic Modified choke is what you're looking for. Good luck

I've been living under the assumption full choke meant it would pattern tighter at longer ranges, and that was a good thing.

get a modified choke

but get some skeet and burn some powder

it is more important to point that thing in the right direction than screw around with chokes

get a red ryder and knock the sights off of it and just point shot at cans, then start shooting clays (or tweeties) with the shotgun

I saw a lot of shotgun chokes around Pecan Island last weekend. The birds were flying and most of the guys with the shotguns totally choked.
