Who has one? Im looking to get one for christmas and wanted to get some input first. Seems like unless you spend decent money on a thermometer it wont be worth a damn. What say you FD board?
Any experience with this one? LINK
ETA: I have heard about ones that connect to your smart phone, the williams sonoma one in the link seems to be overkill.

the maverick et-732 seems to be the most popular, budget friendly wireless ones
you definitely want one with 2 probes if you are using it for BBQ, since you'll be able to monitor external and internal temps

Let's beat that dead horse and say the ET-732 is what you need. Accurate and reliable up to 100-150 feet or so depending on obstruction.
If you're a gadget geek go with a cyberq wifi and remotely monitor and control the pit from anywhere with a cell signal. Overkill, yes. Overpriced, yes. But I love it anyway. (If you're not a geek don't even google it)
